IOSH - Safety for Senior Executives & Directors
The IOSH Senior Executives course aims to provide directors, owners, senior managers and executives with an understanding of the moral, legal and business case for proactive health and safety management and to give guidance on effective risk management.
This IOSH course is accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). IOSH training and certification are sought after qualifications and work to further individuals’ roles and chosen career.
IOSH Course Detail
The course content of the IOSH Safety for Senior Executives course is sometimes modified to meet client specific requirements but typically includes:
- Aims and Objectives. An overview and introduction to the programme
Health & Safety management. Examining the reasons for being proactive in the promotion of health and safety and focusing on the influential Turnbull Report, understanding directors’ and employees’ statutory duties and how to revitalize the organisation’s health and safety strategy. - Health & Safety – Getting it wrong! Raising awareness and understanding of accidents and their causes, consequences and costs.
- Health & Safety – Getting it right! Understanding the principles of effective health & safety management and requirements for compliance with legislation.
- Planning for success. Identifying the roles of risk assessment and risk control systems in successful planning.
- People – your most valuable asset. Recognising the value of people within the organisation and the factors affecting their performance.
- How well is the organisation performing? Methods by which health and safety performance can be measured.
- Improving performance. The ways in which performance can be improved.
This category of IOSH training also includes IOSH Leading Safely courses. These are more specific IOSH courses aimed at ensuring that senior management are aware of their health and safety responsibilities related to the day-to-day running of the organisation.
