This newly launched course is designed to provide a sound foundation to the fundamental elements of environmental management. It has quickly become a very popular addition to the NEBOSH National General Certificate, or it can be taken as a stand-alone certificate. This certificate is aimed at responsible people who make day to day decisions on environmental matters.
Who should attend
Managers, supervisors and employees who have responsibility for managing environmental
issues, as part of their day to day duties.
No previous environmental management knowledge is required but candidates should note
the assessment includes a written report, after the course is completed.
Content
The syllabus takes a risk management approach, based on best practice and international
industry standards:
• Environmental management systems and impact assessments;
• Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency;
• Control of pollution;
• Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies.
Aims and Objectives
On successful completion of this course delegates will have a sound understanding of the
principles of environmental management and have the tools to build an effective
environmental culture within their organisation.
AssessmentMethod
Written examination and a practical assessment with a written report.

This course is assessed by NEBOSH. Certificates are issued to all successful candidates
