This category of Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) training course is aimed at persons working as a Vehicle/Plant Marshaller in either a construction or warehouse environment. The course content can be tailored to specific company requirements to ensure all who have responsibility for manoeuvring vehicles on, off and within busy sites or premises are correctly trained.
The CPCS A73 course aims to instruct delegates how to recognise the importance of accepting and dispersing vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, recognising significant risks and to be able to give clear and precise signals to vehicles.
For those with 2 years constant and recent experience, an Experienced Worker CPCS course may be more suitable. The Foundation CPCS course is most suited to those with less than 2 years’ experience in the role. Experienced Worker courses in this category typically last 2 days in duration, whereas the Foundation course will last longer.
Successful candidates will receive the Red CPCS Card (Trained Operator) endorsed with the Vehicle/Plant Marshaller category. This is valid for 2 years. During these 2 years, red CPCS card holders can work towards their NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to a Blue Competent Operator CPCS Card.
Please note that candidates must have successfully completed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test within the past two years.
Private individuals looking to undertake any CPCS course should read our guidelines for CPCS Training and the Private Individual before applying, as the implications are different to those of a CITB registered company.
This CPCS training course provides thorough training to all relevant operators in order to enable them to competently and safely carry out their Plant & Vehicle Marshaller role. Successful candidates will receive CPCS certification in this category on their CPCS Red Card.
For all CPCS categories, the CPCS theory test is a verbal questions and answer session which will take approximately an hour to complete. The CPCS practical test for the Vehicle/Plant Marshaller training course must be completed within fifty minutes and will consist of the candidate completing a variety of activities and manoeuvres.
