First Aid at Work - Qualified First Aider
A trained First Aider is someone who has attended a course for administering first aid at work and holds a valid first aid certificate. A trained First Aider can also fulfil the functions of an Appointed Person if required.

If your organisation needs a trained First Aider(s) in the workplace then they should attend an HSE Approved First Aid at Work course. At the time of writing this, HSE approved First Aider certification is valid for a period of 3 years and the courses are run over a period of 4 days. A 2 day Refresher course must also be undertaken at the end of the 3 year period. First Aid Training courses in this section include First Aid at Work and Refresher courses.
