NEBOSH National Construction Certificate

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (National): The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is aimed at Supervisors, Managers and CDM co-coordinators within the construction industry; i.e., those individuals who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely.

The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is accredited at Level 3 within the National Qualification Framework and also meets the academic requirements of IOSH for Technician membership (TechIOSH). The qualification is also accepted by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (llRSM) for associate membership.

NEBOSH Construction Certificate training courses are delivered throughout the UK, either as open public courses or as dedicated courses on customers’ own sites or privately arranged venues. The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is divided into three units. Unit NGC1 is the same unit completed within the curriculum of the NEBOSH General Certificate Course. This means that a common unit already passed within the last 5 years does not need a re-sit, if it has already been passed as part of a previous NEBOSH course. This category includes NEBOSH Construction courses that cover all three units and conversion courses that only include NCC1 and NCC2. NEBOSH Construction Certificate Unit NCC2 – Construction Health and Safety Practical Application. For this unit candidates are required to carry out an unaided inspection of a construction site, identifying the more common hazards and then deciding whether they are adequately controlled. They then need to prepare a report to persuade management on remedial measures that need to be taken.
