Course Summary

This two-day course is for those on site with responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works. It is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage with contractors. It’s deal for those who manage all forms of temporary works onsite and is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage contractors.

Such as –

• Site and Project Managers
• Designers and Supervisors working for clients
• Consultants and Contractors who need a detailed awareness of the safety and technical implications of temporary
works.

How does it work?

At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:

• The importance of the '4Cs': communications, cooperation, coordination and competency in managing temporary works as a Temporary Works coordinator
• Understanding the need for, and the duties of, a temporary works coordinator
• Understanding the roles of others
• Understanding BS5975, the code of Best Practice for Temporary Structures on Building Sites
• Statutory aspects of temporary works
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Management of the temporary works process.

The course is taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual or group presentations. You will need to do some self-study outside of the course this will be followed by a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course.

Pre-requisites: Candidates must be able to speak, understand and read English.

Validity of Course: Valid for 5 years after which the course must be re-taken.

Online Training:

Candidates will require

• Laptop/computer with webcam, speakers, microphone and fast internet connection

• A quiet room to complete the course in
