Course Summary
This course provides the ideal introduction for those supervisors who have had little previous health and safety training.It can also be used as a precursor to attending the 5 day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.
Who should attend?
Line Managers Supervisors Foreman, Gangers, to give them a greater understanding of their roles and responsibilities with regards to Safety Welfare and environmental issues, in complying with the Health and Safety at work act 1974 and other legislation relevant to construction sites.
Aims and objectives
The delegates should on completion of this course be able to:
Be more aware of their roles and responsibilities with regards to health safety and welfare.
Be able to better understand how to implement health safety and welfare in accordance with relevant legislation.
Be made more aware of their daily activities that will assist them in carrying out their duties.
The delegates are required to undertake a Tool Box this is to emphasise the importance of good communication as well as a multi choice exam which will determine if the delegate has passed the course.
Course Material
All of the course materials such as the CITB accredited books which are included in the price which are to be used for the duration of the course and kept by the delegates.
Handouts will also be given to help support individual learning.
Duration
The course is run over 2 consecutive days with 15 hours of class learning in total.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years.
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.
