Course Aims
The Aim of the (SMSTS) Site Safety Managers Course is to, assist site management and supervisory personnel to:
- Manage health and safety on site in accordance with the current legal provisions and within the context of their management or supervisory role
- Develop an understanding of their responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare
- Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical and productive
All candidates will be trained and tested by one of the training provider's fully accredited, expert instructors.
Training and assessments can take place either at our purpose built training facility in Blackridge, West Lothian or on your own site.
The duration of the course is 5 days, usually done one day per week for five weeks. On successful completion of this course, candidates will be issued with a CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management Certificate, which is valid for 5 years.
It is our recommendation that all site Managers and Supervisory personnel attend this course .
Additional information
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.
