The SMSTS refresher course is designed for delegates who have previously passed the full SMSTS course and the validity of their original certificate is due to expire. It is intended to bring health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as exploring any legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.


The CITB – Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Refresher Course covers the following:
• Regulations update and overview
• Work at height regulations
• Fall-arrest and suspension
• Equipment
• Control of noise and vibration
• Fire prevention and control
• Risk assessment
• CDM regulations
• Accident reporting, investigation, prevention and control
• Management of heath on site
• Behaviour-based safety
• Drugs and alcohol misuse


Who this course is for?


Only delegates who hold an existing SMSTS or subsequent refresher course and can provide evidence are eligible to attend the refresher course. It is important that all delegates have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
