SA024 - Pole Top Rescue

This accreditation is to provide learners with the necessary information to rescue individuals who become suspended on the pole for whatever reason while working on the pole at height. The purpose of this accreditation is to provide learners with the necessary information to undertake the rescue operation by climbing the pole and by use of a Mobile Elevating Platform. (MEWP) This accreditation sets out the skills, knowledge and understanding to support the individual to use correct equipment and methods to carry out this task safely. This accreditation ensures that learners involved to be suitably trained and accredited to industry and/ or National Occupational Standard (NOS).

This accreditation provides learners with the skills and knowledge of the hazards and potential risks when undertaking a rescue operation by climbing a pole and by use of a Mobile Elevating Platform. (MEWP) It also helps learners awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation. This accreditation tests learners knowledge, skills and understanding of pole top rescue. This accreditation ensures that learners involved cabling in pole top rescue are suitably trained and accredited to the National Operational Standard (NOS).

Accreditation

Learners that successfully complete all of the necessary units will be awarded a full accreditation certificate Pole Top Rescue.

Prerequisites

This course is available to anyone over the age of 16. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centres must ensure potential learners suitability for this course and identify any specific needs/ reasonable adjustments that may be required.
