Qualitative Face Fit Tester Training

Course Overview

 

Qualitative face fit testing (QLFT) is one of the main methods of completing a face fit test. This method of testing can be used for any type of tight-fitting half-face mask, including disposable masks. During QLFT, wearers will have the mask seal tested through what is referred to as a 'taste test'.

 

Course Content 

 

Toolbox talk followed by a 20-30 minute testing per each test

• All delegates must attend with the PPE (hard hat, Safety Glasses, Etc) & RPE face mask that they require testing in.
• Do not attend if displaying any Covid symptoms
• Delegate/s attending this course should be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigours of testing and available to complete the session.
• The subject must be clean shaven for a fit test to be conducted

 

• Delegate/s must avoid smoking or consuming hot food and drinks for 1 hour prior to testing and avoid very spicy foods for 24 hours prior to testing
• A good understanding of the English language is required.
• If delegate/s have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, they should bring them to the attention of the trainer prior to or during the course.
• Delegate/s must bring new unused mask/s that they would wear at work to be tested in. The make and model of this/these if possible, to be provided to instructor prior to course date.
