Course Overview
Course Dates

This course will provide you with the recognised qualification required by Ofsted. It will be delivered over two days and will have a minimum contact time of 12 hours. During this time, learners will have their knowledge tested and receive ongoing assessments by the tutor. The qualification will be valid for three years.

Who should attend?

Anyone working within early years childcare will benefit from this course. In this environment, At all times, at least one person who holds this qualification must be on the premises. All independent child minders must hold this qualification.

What will I learn?

- First aid techniques specific to infants under one and children aged one until the onset of puberty.
- Primary survey
- Dealing with emergencies
- Unresponsive patients
- The recovery position
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Choking
- Anaphylaxis
- Fractures and dislocations
- Injuries to the head, neck, back eyes, ears and nose
- Poisoning
- Bites or stings
- Burns or scalds
- Electric shock
- Minor injuries
- Chronic medical conditions
