New Roads and Streetworks for Supervisors
Course Objectives
To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to perform operative/supervisor duties to the City & Guilds standards set in line with the NRSW Act 1991.
Who Should Attend?
Those who are already employed in the highways maintenance and utilities sector who require the skills to carry out excavation and reinstatement work (operatives) or who monitor the work of operatives (supervisors).
Course Content
Supervisors:
• Unit 1 – Location and avoidance of underground apparatus
• Unit 10 - Monitoring signing, lighting and guarding
• Unit 11 - Monitoring excavation in the highway
• Unit 12 - Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill material
• Unit 13 - Monitoring reinstatement of sub-base and base (roadbase) in non-bituminous materials)
• Unit 14 - Monitoring reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials and Monitoring reinstatement of hot-lay bituminous materials
• Unit 16 - Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways
Additional Units (an additional day of training is required per unit):
• Unit 15 - Monitoring reinstatement of concrete slabs
Delegates will be required to take theory based assessments along with a practical assessment which will involve being observed on the job.
On passing the award, delegates will be issued with a Streetworks Identity Card by the Streetworks Qualifications Register (SQR)
