NRSWA Unit 1 (LA) - Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus

Who Should Attend: 

This Location & Avoidance of Underground Services training programme is designed for Operatives and Supervisors who have to locate underground apparatus for work on the roadways and highways. 

Course Contents: 

The NRSWA Location and Avoidance training course content includes: 

- New Roads & Street Works Act
- Basic principles of location and avoidance of underground services
- Hazard identification and the risks associated with them
- Reading and interpreting site plans 

Knowledge: 

By the end of the course delegates will be able to: 

- Understand the basic principles of the current NRSWA Act and standards
- Identify potential risks ro themselves and others
- Read and understand site plans
- Operate cable avoidance tools in order to avoid or locate underground apparatus 

Certification: 

Upon successful completion delegates will receive unit accreditation by the way of a certificate. 

Entry Requirements: 

The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English. Only those with experience should attend, as this is an assessment or test.
