Course Overview
The NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding Course - Unit 2 (O1) - Operatives is a training program designed for individuals who want to work as street works operatives in the UK. This course covers the knowledge and skills required to set up and maintain temporary traffic management systems on roads and highways, in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
During the course, participants will learn about the legal and regulatory framework for street works, including the responsibilities of operatives and supervisors. They will also learn about different types of traffic management systems, including traffic signs, signals, and barriers, and how to install and maintain these systems safely and effectively.
In addition to learning about the technical aspects of traffic management, participants will also learn about health and safety considerations and best practices when working on or near roads. This will include training on risk assessment, emergency procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the NRSWA and their ability to set up and maintain temporary traffic management systems in accordance with industry standards.
