NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

Overview:

A course covering all aspects of health and safety, with the first week concentrating on health and safety management systems and the second week on the control of workplace hazards.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals that as part of their role have Health & Safety responsibilities and require a nationally recognised qualification in health and safety.

Week 1:

Element 1: Foundations in Health & Safety
Element 2: Plan
Element 3: Do
Element 4: Check
Element 5: Act

Week 2:

Element 1: Workplace Hazards & Risk control
Element 2: Transport Hazards & Risk control
Element 3: Musculo-skeletal hazards and risk control
Element 4: Work equipment hazards & risk control
Element 5: Electrical safety
Element 6: Fire Safety
Element 7: Chemical & biological health hazards & risk control
Element 8: Physical & psychological health - hazards & control

Course Outcome:

There will be two 2 hour exam papers taken on the same day. NGC1 and NGC2 with short bullet style and essay type questions. In addition to this a work based practical assessment for NGC3 will need to be completed.

Pre-requisites:

Previous basic health and safety experience and or qualifications eg. IOSH Managing Safely would be an advantage, but not essential.
