Course Contents:

The IOSH Working Safely is an interactive course that gives delegates introductory health and safety training about the following:

- Reasons why to work safely, with key statistics
- Defining hazard and risk
- The six types of hazard
- Identifying common hazards and ones which are more difficult to identify
- How to control hazards using the 'hierarchy of hazard controls'
- Employee responsibilities regarding safety
- The importance of PPE and emergency procedures
- How to improve safety performance

Assessment:

- Multiple choice exam (20 out of 33 required to pass)
- A 'hazard spotting' assessment (10 out of 16 required to pass)

Delegates require a total score of 61% to be successful.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will achieve an IOSH accredited certificate.

Additional Information:


The IOSH Working Safely course is equivalent to a Level 1 in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment award. If delegates also pass the online CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives test, they will be able to gain the CSCS green Labourer card.

Delegates will get a copy of the Working Safely workbook where they can refer back to key information. They will gain a certificate or can opt for the 'safety passport' photo card for a small fee.

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
