IOSH Accident Investigation and Report Writing - Online Classroom

This IOSH accredited course is designed to provide an understanding of the legal, financial and moral reasons for investigating accidents and incidents at work, and how to complete an effective investigation to establish the root cause(s).  This very interactive course includes case studies, practical exercises, group and individual work.

• Accidents: Definitions, causes of accidents/H&S accident reporting and recording policy.
• Accident Investigation: Understanding what causes accidents, what leads to them and why it is important to get to the root causes.

• How to start an investigation
• What to consider / investigate and why
• Interviewing witnesses
• Collating facts / assumptions and why this is important
• What to include in a report.

Course objectives:

By the end of the course delegates will be able to understand the information that should be included in an investigiation report, how to write a concise investigation and correctly fill in the report form.

Duration: One day 9.30 until 16.30

Exam Format: An examination paper comprising multiple-choice questions lasting a maximum of 45 minutes.
