CITB Health and Safety Awareness

Course overview

The course provides a practical summary of health and safety, welfare and environmental issues identifying individual responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, what the employer's duties are and what should be done if they think anyone's health and safety is being put at risk.

Who needs this qualification?

This course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce, to help them understand the potential hazards that they face at work on site.

Why is this training important?
Of all the industries in the United Kingdom, the construction industry is the largest. There can also be a great deal of danger involved in the construction industry, if proper rules and regulations are not followed, so there is a need for employees to be trained in health and safety.

Learning outcomes

- Understand the need to prevent accidents
- Have an understanding of health and safety law
- Identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site
- Understand the need for risk assessments and method statements
- Feel obliged to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident

Course details
- The course runs over one day.
- Delegates will receive all relevant material for use during the course
- Successful delegates will also receive an Accredited CITB Certificate via post
- All courses are full evaluated using by CITB
