Who Should Attend?
This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work, within industry who
wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First
Aid) Regulations 1981.
Course Content:
Subjects covered include Incident Management, Casualty Head to Toe Survey, CPR, Minor Injuries, Major Illnesses, Head and Chest Injuries, Suspected Spinal Injuries,Burns and Scalds and Sudden Poisoning.
How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification is typically achieved through a 3-day classroom based training course and for re-qualification this is reduced to 2-days.
How is the qualification assessed?
The qualification is assessed via practical demonstration and oral questioning.
What next?
The qualification is valid for a period of 3 years and, in order to re-qualify, learners must be assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria within the qualification.
Learners achieving this qualification may also go on to take other specialist first aid qualifications, such as:
- HABC Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF)
- HABC Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (QCF).
