First Aid at Work - 3 Day Full Qualification Course

First Aid at Work (FAW) - approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and complies with Health & Safety Regulations 1981.

This course providers a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by a first aider in most workplaces to become a confident first aid at work representative.

Course Objective:

To ensure that upon completion of the course, students will be both competent and confident dealing with accidents and injuries in the workplace.

This three day course is designed to provide thorough first aid training meeting the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.

- Legislation
- Legal responsibilities of a first aider
- Main requirements and use of medication
- Keeping records
- Emergency response (practical hands on training)
- CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
- Unconscious casualty
- Obstructed airway
- Dangers of infection
- Control of major bleeding
- Head injuries
- Acute illness
- Heart Attack and Angina
- Burns
- Fractures
- Eye injuries
- Poisons
- Spinal Injuries

There will be a practical assessment at the end of the course.

Additional Information:

A 3-hour refresher course must be taken on the 1st and 2nd anniversary of this course and a 2-day re-qualification course must be taken within a 3 year period of this course.
