Course outline

This is the UK’s most popular first aid course and suitable for most low-risk workplaces. If you already have any first aiders, this is probably the course they were qualified in. The qualification lasts up to 3 years, but to keep skill sets up to scratch, an Annual Refresher course is recommended.

Anyone responsible for first aid in the workplace. Those wanting to increase their confidence that they would know what to do in an emergency.

During the one day course you will cover the following areas:

-The role of the first aider
-Managing an emergency
-Communication and casualty care
-Bleeding (minor and severe)
-Burns
-Choking (adult)
-Health and safety (first aid)
-Resuscitation (adult CPR)
-Seizures (adult)
-Shock
-Unresponsive casualty
-Defibrillator pad placement
-Defibrillator prompts and how to respond
