Course Programme

The Slinger/Signaller course will train you to:

1. Establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information to the crane operator
2. Select appropriate lifting tackle and attach and detach it correctly and safely
3. Use clear and unambiguous signals to direct the actions of a crane moving loads of various weights and dimensions
4. Determine the serviceability of lifting accessories, maintain and store them.

Entry requirements:

This course is suitable for potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those wishing to refresh their skills.

You must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for operatives within the last two years.

Assessment and exams: Assessment will involve both theory and practical tests.

Qualifications/certification:

CPCS Red Trained Operator card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests)

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
