Who Should Attend: The Foundation/Novice course is suitable for operatives with little to no experience on the Excavator.
Pre-requisites: Candidates must have successfully passed the CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test within the past two years.
Endorsements: A: Tracked and B: Wheeled
Course Details:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Excavator controls and terminology.
- Regulations and legislation.
- Undertake all pre-use checks.
- Travel over rough, undulating ground, substantial inclines and level surfaces.
- Manoeuvre in confined spaces.
- Excavate differing types of excavations in various types of ground.
- Place materials into transporting vehicles and hoppers.
- Grade, spread and level ground materials.
- Attach and remove buckets.
- Lift, move and place basic slung loads.
- Shut down and securing procedures.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CPCS Trained Operator 'Red' card which is valid for two years.
