CPCS Training (A40 and A62) Combined Slinger Signaller and Lifting Operations Crane Supervisor Course

Entry Requirements:

- Delegates must have completed the CSCS Health, Safety & Environmental Test for Supervisors within the pas two years
- A good understanding of the written and spoken English language
- You should have sufficient experience of cranes to meet the requirements specified in British standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes.

Course Contents:

A40 Slinger
- Establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information to the crane operator
- Select appropriate lifting tackle and attach and detach it correctly and safely
- Use clear and unambiguous signals to direct the actions of a crane moving loads of various weights and dimensions
- Determine and serviceability of lifting accessories, and maintain and store them.

A62 Crane Supervisor:
- Legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice relating to lifting duties
- Safe systems of work including method statements
- Take personal responsibility
- Different types of crane and associated terminology
- Understanding crane documentation
- Understanding crane stability, duty charts and safety devices
- Crane appreciation
- Observing British Standards 7121
- Understanding the role of Crane Supervisor
- Understanding the role of Appointed person
- Preparing an area with exclusion zones

Assessment/Certification:

In order to achieve the CPCS 'Red' Trained Operators card, delegates will sit 3 days learning through a mix of teaching and practical exercises and also one day of assessments including the CPCS Technical Tests.
