This course is intended for persons responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
The overall aim is to develop in trainees an understanding of scaffold components, forms of construction and inspection procedures of basic access scaffolds and to comply with current legislation and Codes of Practice:
The course will give trainees an understanding of:
- Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 - Work at Height Regulations 2005 - Regulations and Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs). - Scaffold Terminology - Scaffold Materials - Means of Access - Gin Wheels and Ropes - Scaffold Ties - Construction Regulations and Recommendations of Basic Scaffolds. - Practical Inspection - Reports
Competence is measured by multi choice examination and practical scaffold inspection examination
CISRS Certificate of training upon completion of course and successful completion of both examinations.
Successful attendees who have passed a CSCS health and safety test will apply for a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection card.
The pre-requisites for the CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection course are:
1. That the candidate must have some knowledge of scaffolding and scaffolding components. 2. The candidates must hold one of the following that has been taken within 2 years of the CISRS card being applied for.
- Construction Skills Health & Safety Touch Screen Test - 1 Day Health & Safety Awareness Course - CCNSG Safety Passport - NEBOSH Construction - Offshore Survival Certificates - SSSTS or SMSTS - FAS Safe Pass
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
