Our Asbestos Awareness Training (HS11) course is aimed at owners, managers and employees of small to medium size businesses involved within the building trades.

Course Objectives

- Provide awareness of the harmful effects of asbestos on health
- Understand the legislation regarding exposure to asbestos fibres
- Recognise the type of common materials/equipment which may contain asbestos
- Gain the necessary information and instruction on what to do if asbestos is accidentally discovered
- Provide an overview of how asbestos should be managed in buildings – from the building owners and the contractor’s perspective

Course Content

- What is asbestos
- The health effects
- To provide delegates with an awareness of the risks associated with exposure to asbestos and how they should manage this
- Identification of asbestos
- Key legislation – Duty to manage – Client & Contractors responsibility
- An overview of asbestos surveys & registers
- Discovering asbestos – procedure to follow
- Hygiene & PPE
- Outcomes
- On completion of the Asbestos Awareness Training (HS11) course delegates will undertake a short written multi-choice assessment.

Duration: 3-4 Hours

Method of Assessment: Multiple Choice Question Paper

Course Times:
