CPCS (A17) Training - Telescopic Handler Courses

CPCS Training - Telescopic Handler Courses (A17): This category of CPCS Plant training is aimed operators of telehandlers or telescopic handlers. CPCS training courses are designed to lead to Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) qualifications, which allow those holding a valid qualification to carry a CPCS card.

The CPCS telescopic handler course has four categories. Choosing which course to complete is dependent on the requirements of the delegate’s current role. Operators can choose between categories A: Industrial Telescopic, B: Up to 9 meters, C: All sizes ex. 360 degree slew and D: all sizes inc. 360 degree slew. Category C enables operatives to drive telescopic handler categories A, B and C without the 360 slew. Category D qualifies operatives for all sizes including the 360 degree slew.

The A17 course aims to train operators in the theoretical and practical parts of the telehandler. The aim of which is passing the CPCS technical test.

A typical experienced worker course would include only the theoretical aspects of training.

The CPCS technical test at the end of the course includes a theory and practical test.

As with other CPCS categories there are foundation or novice courses for those with little experience and as well as experienced worker courses. Course choice will depend on how much experience the delegate has.
