IPAF Powered Access Operator Training is designed to teach candidates in the correct handling of various types of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms). This includes pre and post use checks, safe operation and other related health and safety elements.
There are 4 different categories of basic IPAF Operator training course, which cover different types of MEWP these being:
Where three categories are combined on single course the most common combination is IPAF 1b, IPAF 3a and IPAF 3b.

Courses can be run at a registered IPAF training centre or at a customer’s premises, as long as the venue and equipment meet pre-requisite requirements.
As well as conventional courses where delegates attend the course to study both the theory and practical elements, a blended course option is now available where the theory aspect of this course is completed online. Delegates will then attend the training centre for the practical aspect of the course.
Successful delegates will receive an IPAF Certificate of Training and IPAF PAL Photo ID Card, which is valid for 5 years.
