SSSTS
Course Overview
This course is designed to give delegates an overview of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. It provides the ideal introduction for those supervisors who have had some or little previous health and safety training, and can also be used as a precursor to attendance on the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course. The training is intended to give site supervisors a clear understanding of how health and safety affects their role and the practical steps they can take to ensure a safe site.
Who should attend?
This two day course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote health and safety to supervise effectively. This course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites. This course is an ideal foundation for obtaining a basic understanding of health and safety duties and responsibilities for junior management and upon successful completion of this course, a natural progression would be the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course. Existing site managers, agents, surveyors and persons holding positions of managerial control should attend the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.
