This course is designed for individuals who currently hold a valid five-day SMSTS or two day SMSTS Refresher course and are within the renewal period.
Course Objectives
Upon completion, participants will:

Recognise accident trends and apply prevention strategies
Be aware of and implement the latest health, safety, welfare, and environmental
regulations relevant to their managerial role
Apply new industry guidance and best practices
Manage a site safely in compliance with current legal requirements

Key legislative updates from the past five years
Accident statistics and trends
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
Work at Height Regulations
Safe use of work equipment
Noise and vibration control measures
Fire safety legislation and requirements
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
Managing asbestos, waste, and environmental factors
Addressing workplace issues such as drugs, alcohol, and stress
Candidates will require:
A laptop/computer with camera, fast internet connection, speakers and microphone (tablets/smartphones are not suitable)
A quiet room, free from distractions to complete the course in
A form of photo ID
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years
