This is a two-day refresher of the full Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course
It updates your knowledge of your responsibilities for site safety, health, welfare and the environment.
Who should attend
This CITB SMSTS Refresher course is for any candidate who has attended the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and holds a valid certificate which needs to be renewed.
Course outline
- The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
- Risk assessment and method statements
- Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
- Behavioural safety
- Occupational health
- Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation, which affects them in their role as a manager
- Be capable of implementing new guidance and industry best practices
- Be more aware of duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment
