SMSTS Training (CITB) - Site Management Training - Online Classroom

It covers all relevant legislation for safe practices in the building, construction and civil engineering industries, outlining the need for risk assessment and good on-site communication within the workplace.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

- Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their own role
- Develop an understanding of their responsibilities and accountabilities
- Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical and productive.

Who Should Attend?

The course is for individuals responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering a workforce.

Site managers and supervisors, project managers and any other individuals who require an understanding of site health, safety and welfare management.

Course Content:

- Introduction to health and safety law, duties and responsibilities
- Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- Overviews/explanations of relevant construction activity legislation
- Employer and employee responsibilities
- Safety management systems, policies, plans, performance and measuring
- Safe systems of work
- Risk assessments and principles of prevention
- Responsibilities of Managers, Supervisors and Operatives
- Managing of contractors
- Effective communication
- Confined Spaces
- Fire precautions
- Manual handling
- Accidents and associated legislation (RIDDOR)

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years.

Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.

The link for the online course will be emailed to your delegate 2 working days prior to course commencement, along with the course publication. Please ensure that you send your training provider an email address for the delegate

The IT requirements for this course are as follows:

• A laptop or PC with a webcam and microphone
• Reliable internet connection - super fast or fibre optic internet
• Our preferred browser for delegates to use is Google Chrome, however Firefox or Internet explorer will suffice

Please ensure the delegates have the following information with them for the course:

• Delegates will be required to show photographic ID to confirm their identity at the start of the course. Please ensure they have with them a valid CSCS Card, Driving Licence or Passport.
• Delegates are required to have their NI numbers.
• CITB levy payers will need to bring their levy number in order to claim back the attendance grant.
• For Refresher courses - please ensure a copy of the delegates current certificate is emailed through to the training provider no later than 2 working days prior to the course.

The end of course assessment link will be emailed to your delegate on the final day of the course. Please ensure the email addresses [email protected] and gosurveymonkey.com are added to your whitelist and is allowed through your email security system to avoid any technical issues on assessment day.
