Module 1 - Introduction to Racking Safety
- Overview of racking safety and its importance in the workplace
- Legal and regulatory requirements for racking inspections
- Potential hazards and risk associated with unsafe racking
- Employer and employee responsibilities regarding racking safety
Module 2 - The Racking Structure
- Key components of racking systems (uprights, beams, bracing, locking pins, footplaces, etc)
- Types of racking systems (Adjustable pallet racking, cantilever racking, drive-in racking, etc)
- Mechanical handling equipment used within racking systems (forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, etc)
- Safe loading and unloading practices to prevent damage and accidents
Module 3 - Inspections
- Types of racking inspections
- Daily visual inspections
- Weekly/monthly internal inspections
- Annual expert inspections
- Inspection frequency and responsibilities
- Documentation and record-keeping requirements
- Actions to take following inspection findings
Module 4 - Damage and Structural Awareness
- Recognizing different types of racking damage (dents, misalignment, overloading, corrosion, missing components, etc)
- Understyanding damage severity levels (Green, Amber and Red classification)
- Assessing the impact of damage on structural integrity
- Proceduures for reporting damage and corrective actions

Theory test assessment, a multiple-choice question paper covering:
- Racking safety fundamentals
- Inspection protocols
- Damage assessment and classification
- Legal and regulatory compliance
Practical Training & Assessment
- Hands-on inspection of racking systems
- Identifying and documenting safety hazards and damage
- Completing inspection reports and recommending corrective actions
- Final competency assessment conducted by the trainer
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the training course, participants will receive a Racking Safety Awareness Certificate demonstrating their understanding and competency in racking safety inspections and procedures.
