Course Overview
Course Dates

Course Objectives:

To provide delegates with the knowledge to work on roads within the UK in line with the requirements of the NRSW Act 1991.

Course Contents:

Units of Competence for Trained Operatives
Unit LA - Location and avoidance of underground apparatus (Cat and Genny)
Unit O1 - Signing, lighting and guarding
Unit O2 - Excavation in the road/highway
Unit O3 - Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
Unit O4 - Reinstatement of sub-base and road-base on non-bituminous materials
Unit O5 - Reinstatement of cold-lay bituminous materials
Unit O6 - Reinstatement of hot-lay bituminous materials
Unit O8 - Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways

Certification:

On completion of the course candidates will be registered with SQA, CITB, CABWI or the relevant awarding body and receive certification. They will also receive a street works register ID card that proves registration on the NRSWA register. The candidates NRSWA card is valid for 5 years.
