NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) is designed for those with health and safety responsibilities in the construction sector. Therefore, it’s ideal for:

Course Content

 

Aligned with the CDM best practices and legislative requirements, the in-depth course content will give you everything you need to manage construction health and safety.

The syllabus includes one main unit, CN1, which covers the following content:

  • CDM roles and responsibilities
  • Health and safety culture
  • Assessing risk
  • Managing change
  • Excavation
  • Demolition
  • Mobile plant and vehicles
  • Working at height
  • Musculoskeletal health
  • Work equipment
  • Electricity
  • Fire
  • Chemical and biological agents
  • Physical and psychological health.

By the end of the NEBOSH Construction Certificate, you will be able to:

  • Recognise, assess and control a range of common construction hazards
  • Develop safe systems of work
  • Take part in incident investigations
  • Advise on the roles, competencies and duties under construction legislation
  • Positively influence health and safety culture
  • Confidently challenge unsafe behaviours
  • Help manage contractors.

 

Assessment

The assessment for this qualification consists of an Open Book Examination (OBE). It’s a practical assessment based on a realistic construction-based scenario.

You will have 48 hours to download, complete and upload your answers.

Qualification Pass Mark
The provisional pass mark for Unit CN1 is 45%. 

You must receive a passing grade to achieve the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction certification.

You will be assessed by an external examiner appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are selected based on their experience and expertise in the industry.

Professional Membership Eligibility
As a holder of this qualification, you can apply for Associate membership (AIIRSM) with the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

You will also become eligible for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card scheme.
