IOSH Working with Environmental Responsibilities
Course Content:
The IOSH Working with Environmental Responsibilities course comprises of two core modules.
Module 1 – Working with the Environment
By the end of this module delegates will be able to:
- Define the terms ‘environment’ and ‘pollution’;
- Appreciate how workplace activities may affect the environment and possible consequences if action is not taken;
- Define the terms ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’ relating to the environment;
- Identify hazards in the workplace that might cause harm to the environment in particular those with significant risks;
- Identify the three major systems which convey pollutants; and
- Identify the person who is responsible for the environment issues in their workplace.
Module 2 – Protecting the Environment
By the end of this module delegates will be able to:
- Recognise the need for an Environmental Management System (EMS);
- Identify their organisation’s chosen EMS and appreciate the beneficial effects on the organisation and general environment; and
- Appreciate their own role in the functioning of an EMS.
This course can be tailored to suit your individual requirements of your company through the inclusion of an optional third module.
Assessment:
There are two assessments for this course, an environmental hazards identification project and a multi-choice assessment paper. An IOSH certificate is awarded to delegates who successfully complete the course.

This is a one day course and can also be delivered in company.
