As a qualified first aider you will hopefully have had very few occasions when your skills have been required. This can be both a positive and a negative. On one hand, the safe working practices you have put in place have been successful. On the other, your skills have not been refreshed and in some cases may have been forgotten altogether.
This is a ½ day course.
Who Should Attend?
The course is suitable for any persons who qualified as first aiders, or who have attended the 1 day First Aid Appointed Persons course and are looking for a practical update session to refresh their skills.
Pre-requisites for Delegates
Delegates should have attended a previous First Aid at Work course.
Delegates will receive a refresher in basic theory and will be given the opportunity to apply practical skills in a classroom situation. Delegates will gain:
- A chance to refresh their vital first aid skills
- The confidence and ability to provide the appropriate basic first aid when required
- Recovery position
- Shock, bleeding and wounds
- Minor injuries
Certification and Assessment
Attendance certificates will be issued after course completion providing delegates have actively participated throughout the course. It is suggested that certification is renewed every year to ensure that those persons responsible for First Aid are kept up to date with best practices.
