EUSR SHEA Power - Online Classroom

The EUSR SHEA power training course provides a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness for those working on operational sites.

Developed in collaboration with the industry and key stakeholders this course ensures you will meet the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals involved in the operational activities of the power industry who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.

Course Information: 

The course follows a modular approach with eight modules in total. Six of the modules are designated as ‘core’ modules, which are pertinent for all utility sectors. The other two modules are specific to the power industry.

The modules covered are:
•    Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
•    Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
•    Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
•    Module 4: Common hazards in the workplace
•    Module 5: Occupational health hazards
•    Module 6: Responding to emergencies
•    Module 7: Power generation, transmission and distribution
•    Module 8: Power industry hazards

To gain the EUSR SHEA Power registration certificate candidates must complete all eight modules.

Assessment: 

SHEA assessments are multiple choice and structured so that there is an assessment per module. They can be taken one module at a time, or all together at the same time. 

Certification: 

Learners will receive an EUSR photo ID card with the qualification stated on the back.

SHEA Power EUSR registration is valid for three years.

The SHEA Power Scheme is partnered with CSCS to allow power industry workers access to construction sites for utilities works with the need for a separate CSCS card.
