Course Content:
The Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (EFAW) is ideal for businesses with a relatively low number of employees on-site, especially in low-risk environments. This qualification covers all the core competencies outlined by the HSE, making it an acceptable workplace first aid certification. Completing this course qualifies you to be an appointed first aider in the workplace. It meets HSE workplace first aid requirements and aligns with the latest UK Resuscitation Council guidelines.
This course requires a minimum of 6 contact hours, conducted over at least 1 day, and the certificate is valid for 3 years.
1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
2. Be able to assess an incident
3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty (breathing and not breathing)
4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
