This course provides training on the safe use of ride-on rollers used in compacting ground materials. It includes guidance on machine operation, site safety, rolling techniques, and working on slopes or uneven surfaces.
Who Should Attend:
Operators involved in road and groundwork compaction
Course Content/Aims:
- Pre and post use checks of the machinery
- Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of various components
- Set the roller for site travel
- Show they can competently manoeuvre the roller in confined areas using both forward and reverse directions
- Place the roller in an “out of service” condition
- Recognise and state conditions that may cause the roller to become unstable, plus safety procedures when compacting on an incline
- Prepare areas prior to compacting
Assessment
CPCS technical theory and practical tests
Certification:
Upon successful completion, delegates will achieve a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card
Entry Requirements:
In order to attend, delegates will need to have completed the CSCS Health, Safety & Environmental Test for Operatives within the past 2 years
