Safety Harness Training

Safety harness training provides the learner with practical knowledge and skills to safely chose, use, maintain and inspect safely personal fall protection equipment and how to select and use appropriate equipment for working at height.  Our practical sessions cover this hands-on.
 
It covers relevant up to date legislation and  training to ensure workers understand the risks associated with working at height and how to mitigate them using safety harnesses and related equipment. 
 
Key aspects of safety harness training include:

•    Understanding Legislation:
Learning about the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and other relevant safety standards. 
 
•    Risk Assessment:
Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate control measures, including the hierarchy of controls for working at height. 
 
•    Equipment Selection:
Choosing the correct type of harness and other personal fall protection equipment (PFPE) for the specific task. 
 
•    Pre-use Inspections:
Learning how to thoroughly inspect harnesses and related equipment before each use to identify any defects or damage. 
 
•    Proper Fitting and Adjustments:
Ensuring the harness fits correctly and is adjusted for optimal comfort and safety. 
 
•    Safe Use and Maintenance:
Understanding how to safely use the harness, including proper anchoring and how to avoid common hazards. 
 
•    Storage and Maintenance:
Learning how to properly store and maintain the harness to prevent damage and ensure its longevity. 
 
•    Rescue Procedures:
Understanding basic rescue procedures in case of a fall, including suspension trauma and how to respond.
