It is also a popular choice for professionals wanting to make a career change into the health and safety sector. The International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety covers similar content for the overseas market. The National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is designed for project managers and supervisors in facilities maintenance and construction in the UK, while the NEBOSH International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is aimed at those working in the international market. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management, the newest addition as a
NEBOSH Certificate Course, is aimed at those responsible for advising or managing environmental issues in a range of sectors. The NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health and Well-being at Work is designed for those professionals who are involved with preserving the wellbeing of employees in the work environment such as managers, HR professionals and health and safety professionals and can help to improve productivity and reduce staff absence. The NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety is aimed at those employed in positions of responsibility in the Oil and Gas sector. The NEBOSH International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate follow a similar outline and are designed for those professionals dealing specifically with fire hazard and risk, with the national course providing a greater focus on UK relevant legislation.
Some of the courses provide membership of professional health and safety bodies. The National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and the NEBOSH International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety all qualify the holder for TECH IOSH and AIIRSM membership. The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate and NEBOSH International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management also qualified the holder for TECH IOSH and AISSRM and IFE (Institute of Fire Engineers). The AISSRM is the associate level of membership of International Institute of Risk and Safety Management. It is level 3 in their 5 level structure. The TECH IOSH is at the 2nd level on the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety 5 level structure, which is the same level as those holding degrees or NVQ/ SVQ level 5’s.
