Who should attend:
This 1 day CITB Site Safety Plus course will provide candidates with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites. It is designed to meet the basic environmental knowledge that the sub-contract chain must demonstrate to main contractors.
Site managers, Supervisors, Assistant Site Managers, Agents and Foremen will all benefit from completing this course, which also provides preparation for the environmental aspects of the touch screen Health, Safety and Environment test.
Course Content:
The course provides an awareness and basic knowledge of legal requirements on site which relate specifically to the environment and how to achieve compliance with regulatory body requirements.
Delegates will understand the environmental impacts and issues associated with construction activities and processes.
The course will provide an overview of the importance of sustainability issues, and an introduction to Environmental Management Systems, ensuring delegates have the latest information regarding industry best practice.
An insight to the management of waste, contaminated land and water issues will be gained and pollution prevention guidance will be highlighted.
Delegates will understand how to be a responsible contractor and good neighbour, helping to maintain a good reputation.
Outcomes:
This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion and group work. Successful completion of the course will enable delegates to demonstrate their underpinning knowledge to employers and prospective clients Delegates will be assessed during the course and are required to successfully complete a multiple-choice test. 100% attendance is required for eligibility for the final test. Successful delegates will be issued with a certificate valid for 5 years.

Delegate Preparation:
There are no set entry requirements for this qualification, however, delegates must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
