Mental Health First Aid Training Refresher

Objectives:

Delegates will update their understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing. They will also refresh skills to spot the symptoms of mental health issues.

Who should attend?

This MHFA Refresher is only for people who have completed an Adult MHFA two day or one day, Armed Forces MHFA two day or the one day Mental Health Champion course.

Course Content:

Delegates will refresh their skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid for adult mental health and how to effectively support those experiencing distress.

The ½ day MHFA Refresher course will empower delegates to;

• Keep awareness of mental health supports current
• Update knowledge of mental health and what influences it
• Practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

Training takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

Outcomes:

Successful delegates will be issued with an Adult Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) certificate. It is recommended that Mental Health First Aiders attend a Refresher course every 3 years.
