Course Overview

2-day Adult Mental Health First Aid is the most comprehensive training. Mental health first aid is designed to support people who experience ill mental health. The person who is trained as a Mental Health First Aider is able to help someone who is experiencing mental health issues as well as try to prevent, or help during a mental health crisis. The course is accredited by MHFA England

- Cognitive distortions and CBT
- Personality disorders
- Eating disorders
- Self-harm

Session 4:

- What is psychosis?
- Risk factors for psychosis
- Alcohol, drugs and psychosis
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Warning signs of developing psychosis
- Crisis first aid for acute psychosis

- Action planning for using MHFA
