Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

Accredited by the British Safety Council to deliver their Health and Safety in a Construction Environment training course. It is an alternative to the CITB Health and Safety Awareness course and is a pathway to obtaining your CSCS Green Card.

Construction workers in non-skilled roles (i.e. entry level Labourers)

Course Objectives:

By the end of the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course, the delegate will:

-have a basic understanding of health and safety in a construction environment
-possess the necessary knowledge of site related hazards to conduct their work safely
-be able to take responsibility for their safety and help to maintain a safe working environment
-understand how to conduct risk assessments, report any accidents and prepare a method statement
-recognise the risks of various aspects of site including machinery, electricity, noise, manual handling and vibration
-understand the significance of health and safety signs and PPE
-What is Required to Pass the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Course?

Delegates must complete and pass a classroom based exam containing 40 multiple-choice questions relating to the content learned on the day.

Further Development:

Potential delegates for the course are obliged to attend this Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course or obtain the Site Safety Plus qualification. They will also then need to attend the Health, Safety and Environment test, which must be undertaken within two years of completing the course.
