Benefits of the Course
By the end of the course the candidates will be able to:

Better understand current fire safety legislation
Know your responsibilities under the new Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
Better understand and interpret the requirements placed on companies by the Fire Authorities
Formulate a fire routine for the workplace.
Be better equipped to raise the issue of fire awareness within the company.
Identify the types of fire extinguisher available and select the appropriate extinguisher for any particular class of fire.
Know how to use a fire extinguisher.

Duration
The duration of the course is 2 ½ - 3 hours. We aim to start the course at 10.00am and it usually finishes around 12.30pm.

Assessment
There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 8 out of 12 questions in order to achieve a Fire Safety Certificate, issued by Envesca.

Entry Qualifications and Progression
Although this is a stand-alone qualification and there are no specific entry qualifications. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace.
