The CISRS COTS (Construction Operative Training Course Specification) course is aimed at operatives carrying out only labouring or driving duties in support of scaffold operations. This course is delivered at CISRS training centres located across the UK, and centres undergo annual audits to ensure they continually meet CISRS Scheme Criteria.
Candidates who wish to apply for the CISRS Scaffolding Labourer Card must successfully complete and pass the COTS scaffolding labourer course within 2 years to apply. They must also have passed a CSCS Health, Safety and Environment touch screen test within two years, unless they have an accepted exemption.

CISRS Scaffolding Labourer Cards are valid for a period of 5 years at which stage they will expire, and it will be necessary to re-qualify.
Those who apply for CISRSTrainee Cards, must complete CISRS Part 1 within 18 months of obtaining their card.
