TWCTC Training (CITB) Refresher - Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training - Online Classroom

The Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Refresher condenses the content of the full 2 day course for those with an existing understanding of what it takes to control temporary works on site.
It is designed to assist those on site who have responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works. The course has been designed to give confidence to senior management, and to ensure that those who engage contractors have an assessed standard of knowledge.

Who should attend?
The TWCTC refresher one-day course, is aimed at learners who have completed the TWCTC or the TWCTC refresher in the last five years, or subsequent refresher course, and can provide proof of attendance.

- What are temporary works? 
- The history of temporary works and consequences of failure

- Legal and management procedures of temporary works
  - Health and Safety Law
  - The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (HASWA)
  - Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)

- Who is involved in Temporary Works?
  - Stakeholders’ and duty holders’ responsibilities and accountabilities

- Planning temporary works
  - Management and control of design
  - Key processes
  - Procurement
  - Risk classification

- Managing construction, erection and dismantling of temporary works
  - Key activities required during the active life of the temporary works

Assessment
To obtain certification students must pass a 30 minute open-book exam consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions, selected by CITB. The pass mark is 72% (18 out of 25).

Candidates will require:

- A laptop/computer with camera, fast internet connection, speakers and microphone (tablets/smartphones are not suitable) 
- A quiet room, free from distractions to complete the course in 
- A form of photo ID

Duration - 1 Day

Certification - Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to resit this refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.
